DEAR MEMBERS OF THE MOTAT SOCIETY (MOTSOC)

As this is the last Squeaky Wheel issue for 2025, I would just like to wish you all a very festive forthcoming Christmas season. I know it might look as if it’s a bit early, however the ads are beginning to appear on the telly and many of the shops are beginning to put up their special displays.
Elsewhere in this issue you will be able to read the report from the 2024/25 chair Makyla Curtis as presented to the Annual General Meeting, as well as a summary of the presentation made to the AGM by the Museum’s Chief Executive Craig Hickman-Goodall. It has clearly been a great year for MOTAT and for the MOTAT Society.
The AGM was an eventful evening, and a variety of perspectives were aired. The members who were elected to the committee are as follows:
Alan Curtis
Bill Rayner
Bryna Foster
John Syme
Makyla Curtis
Peter Burch
Scott Pilkington
At the first committee meeting of the year, I was elected as chair until the next AGM. Makyla had already advised the committee that she would be stepping aside from the role due to a number of personal engagements taking much of her time. The deputy chair continues to be Bryna Foster who has made a considerable contribution during the last twelve months.
I look forward to working with the committee over the next year and wish everyone a pleasant break over the holiday period.
- Alan Curtis, Chair, Museum of Transport & Technology Society
